Whole Wheat Buttermilk Biscuits

Hi, Today I made Buttermilk biscuits but not using All purpose flour, with whole wheat flour for my kids and my especially for my papa who is diabetic. Hope you all like it.

Preparation time :- 15 min.                                 Cooking time :- 20 min.
 
Makes :- 18 Biscuits

Ingredients :--

2 Cups whole wheat flour
1 Cup buttermilk
2 tsp Baking powder
1/4 tsp Baking soda
80 gms cold butter cut into pieces
1/2 Tbs salt




Procedure:---

1.  Preheat oven at 450 F (230 C) for 10 minutes. Take 1 3/4 cups flour, leave 1/4 cup flour dusting dusting later. Add baking powder, baking soda and salt to the flour and mix well.




2.  Add chilled and cubed butter to the and start mixing with your finger tips till you get bread crumbs like consistency.




3. Now mix buttermilk to the flour and start mixing with fork till its gathers as big ball.



4. Dust flour on flat surface and put dough on it and roll it with your hands to cover the flour.




5. Now pat with your hand and flat the dough to a rough rectangle shape.



6. Fold it in three and pat again to form a rectangle. Do this three times.



7. Now flat the dough to 1 inch thick rectangle and cut biscuits with the help of cookie cutter or small glass.




8. Put them on baking sheet and bake them for 13 - 15 min or till fully baked at 230 C.










9. Cool the biscuit on cooling tray and enjoy with Tea.




Note:-- 

1. I made these biscuits in LG convection microwave. Results may differ in other baking applainces.
2. These are crispy outside and soft and flaky from inside.
